Saltenna is a pioneer of RF communications in environments and contexts well beyond the capabilities of all other RF approaches. Saltenna's RF / Antenna Engineer will play an instrumental role in the development and implementation of our scientific approach to communications and sensing in some of the most RF-difficult environments on Earth. Saltenna has the world's foremost experts in electromagnetic wave theory with hundreds of published papers and tens of patents, and the applicant will get to work with them and learn from them.

The RF / Antenna Engineer will work with our chief scientists to research and develop unique forms of antennas and electronics for Saltenna's communications solutions. This is a highly innovative role and will involve new innovations to antennas, SDRs, radio software, and other elements not seen in any other approach. The applicant will be expected to help us move the industry forward, not just to implement existing concepts. The applicant will get to accompany team members on outdoorsy trips to perform testing of concepts and prototypes in the field in various interesting environments.

  • Use the latest science to produce ruggedized, practical products to get massive improvements in wireless communications out to both our warfighters and commercial markets.
  • Assist in the furthering of Plasmonic science along with our chief scientists. Contribute to scientific activities and translate the latest science into engineering solutions.
  • Conduct field experiments in a variety of RF-difficult environments such as     maritime, jungle, and other locations.

CHALLENGES

This role will suit an applicant who enjoys complex challenges:
  • Saltenna is a small, rapidly-growing company, so the applicant will get to experience the thrills and challenges of such an environment, as well as the energy of an expanding, changing team.
  • Saltenna is dual-use => engineering for both government and commercial applications.
  • The applicant will interface with many other disciplines as part of a multidisciplinary engineering effort.
  • As the team develops, the applicant will help shape the dynamics and culture of the engineering team.
