Saltenna is a pioneer of wireless communications and sensing in some of the most RF-difficult environments on Earth. Saltenna's Director of Engineering will play an instrumental role in the development and implementation of this multi-patented technology across a host of government and commercial sectors. The applicant will be responsible for engineering for both government contracts and commercial products.

The applicant will interface closely with our chief scientists, who are the world's foremost experts in surface electromagnetic wave theory with hundreds of published papers and tens of patents, and the applicant will get to work with them and learn from them.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND

Saltenna requires the following experience and background for the successful applicant:

  • US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance.
  • Ability to manage teams to deliver products to scope and on schedule.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams involving integrated hardware/software products and services.
  • Experience shipping and maintaining finished products, preferably in both commercial and government sectors.
  • Experience building solutions for DOD and/or other classified environments.
  • Comfort in interfacing with customers, managers, partners, and other non-engineers.
  • Comfort traveling and doing fieldwork in a variety of environments (water, jungles, metals, ice, etc.), including managing engineers in the field when needed.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with audiences of diverse backgrounds and disciplines.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND

Saltenna prefers the following experience and background:

  • Expertise designing and building embedded systems involving Radiofrequency, Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS),Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), RF signal processing, and related technologies.
  • Expertise with embedded systems and cybersecurity used in critical environments such as DOD, IIoT, etc.
  • Experience with software and cloud development.
  • Machine Learning (ML) experience, especially reinforcement learning.
  • Ability to present a professional image for occasional field and customer-facing duties.
  • Ability to conduct PDRs and familiarity with CDRs.
